E-Book vs Hardcover Book
With new technologies and programs coming out every day it would seem only logical that certain things would become more affordable. Many people believe that e-books are significantly cheaper than any hardcover or paperback, but are we expecting too much? It is agreed on by both customers and publishers that e-book are in fact cheaper than buying a hardcover book. Most e-book will sell for about $12 to $14 while to buy the same thing on paper you would be spending over $25.
The problem is that most customers are starting to expect cheaper prices for books that they buy online believing that these books cost almost nothing to make. Customers think that they are getting ripped off much of the time because they are spending more than they think they should on e-books even though they are still significantly cheaper than a hardcover. Consumers usually fail to take into account the costs that go into publishing a book like marketing, overhead and royalties which all factor into the total price that customers are being charged when buying a book.
