Medical studies are becoming so common and easy to research and produce that most of them actually turn out to be wrong. You may be thinking that this is because the researcher has failed to accurately research his topic of study when rather it is the statistics that have failed. We are able to take massive amounts of data and run various tests on them which are giving us our results. The problem is that the statistical tools that we use are not keeping pace with what we need of them. Even if there was a very small error occurrence in these tests done there would still be large amounts of results that would have incorrect data.

The problem is that we are quickly expanding our testing abilities. With computer programs out now that are able to handle the massive amounts of data that can be collected the likelihood of mistakes being made has increased significantly. Every test done of these sets of data will increase the chances of errors occurring and if you are doing many multiple tests this chance will grow even larger.
