London Taxi Drivers get a Lesson in Customer Service
London Cab drivers are famous for sharing their opinions although this all may change soon as there are plans to implement training that will teach the drivers when to stop talking. Regulators for the company are pondering extra training sessions for new personnel so that they know when they should stop talking.
London taxi drivers already have to go through a rigorous training to be able to get the position, most likely the hardest training that any taxi company has in the world. The driver must already have knowledge of over hundreds of streets and various routes that take on average three years to learn.
The company is facing scrutiny now from various sources as to its lack of preparation for a life in the service industry. Along with courses as to knowing when not to talk there may also be further improvements with customer service classes, and classes for how to drive more fuel-efficiently. This all comes with growing competition from privately hired minicabs. Even though as the owner said this may be a company known the world over there will always be room for improvements.
